I do not think any Muslim inside the United States would and should do anything but they should watch it nearby holding a vigil holding hands with many other people and make sure every news organization RECORDS this event and airs it as it occurs. The faces of fear mongers and bigotry must be shown and these are the people that are going to be representing a portion of politicians and the likes of islamaphobes.. They will watch armed men about 2000 with guns burn Qurans in a Church (christian) . I think we now know who is the terrorist of the developed world, vs one from the underdeveloped ones.

So the so called "civil" is now the opposite. Actually, I am hoping they do this and get tons of publicity and people who are against the burning just stop stare without saying a word with their arms crossed.

This is very important to the Muslim community more than anything. This should get all news networks showing this act and the people that represent it along with the footage of the crowd that opposes it just watching the event.

It's going to leave a mark on US history along with the rise of islamophobia. History has shown what people have suffered and continue to suffer by the hands of bigots, racists, segregationists, ignorant, uneducated and the likes.

It's just too obvious. If they really wanted to make a statement they would have the Muhammad Day Parade, where floats could be built celebrating the life of Muhammad. Muhammid in his cave talking to God. Muhammad with his six year old wife. Muhammad as a soldier killing and raping. Muhammad air balloons smiling down. Muhammad and all 12 of his wives sitting around naked and watching the TV. This is America. Any idiot can burn a book. If you plan on making a statement, do it the right way. The Parade can start in Florida and end up in Black Rock City, Nevada for the Burning man Festival and this year we will burn all the floats and Muhammad in effigy. Now that would be the way to do it!

They're hoping to increase membership by capitalising on the anger and resentment and the wave of islamophobia to help put bums on pews and hopefully increase the money in the contribution plate. I think it's a distinctly unchristian thing to do though.

They're taking their inspiration from this scripture:

Acts 19:19 9 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. KJV

The error in their thinking though is that in this scripture the converts willingly burned their own books as a sign of their repentance, what these guys are doing buying up copies of the Koran (thus sending money to muslims) just to make a public spectacle that they're not happy about the muslims building a mosque at or near ground zero. They'd be better off taking up a collection and buying a plot to build a church at ground zero and encourage other faiths to do the same so and then try to arrange for the church mosque synagogue temple gudwara etc to be amalgamated into one huge interfaith temple designed to promote mutual understanding and respect.

How can it's reasonable? If you burn the Quran, you're disrespecting the entire one million.fifty seven billion Muslims, no longer simply the tiny fraction that decision themselves Muslims and cross round blowing men and women up. This is racism, truthfully. You do not pass judgement on all of the men and women of a devout religion via one tiny organization, and so you do not disrespect all of them via burning a e-book they think sacred. No one is encouraging burning of the USA flag, and besides, considering that whilst did the USA flag come to be holy and sacred? How can any individual inspire men and women to burn any individual else's holy e-book? It's no longer just like the Muslims social gathering to burn the bible or Torah in combination.

Thats why he is asking you to burn a quran!Ask yourself what good will you do to this world by burning just a book?!! Nothing but you will bring more hatred and sorrows in this world.Dont do this, dont be a partner in crime of a child abuser, don't be with a child pornography convict. Listen to your truthfull heart!!!Help in bringing peace to the world! Love you all, may god be with you...

If Christians can have a Burn a Quran day, then Muslims should have a Burn a Bible day. Religious freedom is for all the groups.

That must be a rhetorical question, right?

America, the land of the free?? It's 2010 and we are still acting ask if centuries ago, when we were still intellectually and culturally ignorant. If the Muslims had thought of doing the same, it would be considered a terrorist attack, but its ok if christians do it?

Who do these people think they are? How dare they do this in the name of Christianity when there are so many good christians world-wide who would totally be ashamed of this?

SHAME ON AMERICAN-CHRISTIANS..and talk about shame..read this:

[..Infamous Pastor Terry Jones, known for his activism against the Gainesville Florida mayor, and for his "Burn a Qoran Day" has been arrested for possession of child pornography... ]

I think burning any books is unethical. I am not surprised that churches would do it though. Probably the same groups that get their panties in a bunch if anyone would suggest their favorite book got the same treatment.

Books are symbols of knowledge, history and human expression. Book burning is a very regressive and barbaric practice, regardless of the book being burned.

I say burn the quran anytime, they burn our bibles & we don't go after them to kill them, that is God job. When you stand for truth then the islamic world is ready to kill you, sorry, but I would not hesitate to burn a quran.
