How anyone could suggest Norton to you is beyond me. Norton does not come anywhere close to Kaspersky. They are worlds apart. I've used Norton. I've tested Norton. Norton is not that good. Once you install it you will find it to be one of the biggest memory hogs i have ever seen. It's protection is no where in the ball park that Kaspersky is.
While testing Norton i used VMware. It's a virtual machine. I threw the same bad URL's at Norton and Kaspersky. I tested them both against the Koob Face virus. (The one you get by playing Face Book games) amongst other things. Kaspersky beat it hands down. Right now Kaspersky is the best i have tested. Believe me, I've thrown some bad stuff at both of them. I was able to infect the test computer 3 times with Kaspersky on it. But by the next update Kaspersky was able to delete all the viruses. Norton, Even after several updates never was able to delete any of the 3 that Kaspersky was able to delete.
That's why i endorse Kaspersky as much as i do. I've tested it 6 ways from Sunday and it always comes out on top. Norton, Not even in the same league with Kaspersky. Right now Kaspersky is miles ahead of all of them. Free and paid. If any others are going to get a share of the AV market they had better be stepping up there game.
If you have a clean, fully patched windows machine, Put Kaspersky on it. It will stay clean for years. I've been using it heading towards 6 years. I haven't been infected with anything yet. I go places on the net that other people with Norton and there high and mighty free AV's are afraid of.

Norton Internet Security and Kaspersky Internet Security are very good. Both those companies keep on top of things. You can't go wrong with either one. They both offer a free trial so if you don't like the program it does not cost you anything. But it's all so very important to protect from security vulnerabilities. You here users say they have a good anti-virus program and still get infected, they then blame the anti-virus programs. When in fact they don't patch security holes on their computers which allow malware an easy way in. Here's a free program that will help with that problems.

you're cable information superhighway business corporation (ISP) would grant a loose protection suite for his or her clientele. in the event that they grant on-line chat (called stay chat) ask them or provide them a decision. this way you have non-give up protection while not having to place in numerous classes or paying extra for it... in the journey that your ISP does not grant antivirus application, there are loose recommendations. the appropriate ones that i know of that are loose are: avg, avast, and anti-vir. Anti-vir is my suggestion as a results of fact: a million. It installs and can be bumped off comfortably. 2. demands no technical know-how to apply. 3. places maximum protection on by way of default 4. immediately updates the appliance 5. runs antivirus scans interior the background. (not extra scheduling scans) 6. makes use of below 20mb of RAM and below 5% cpu while at maximum utilization stages. 7. basically has a million device provider (in assessment to pc acquaintances which has between 4 or 5 and Symantec which has like 6 plus stay replace provider). 8. Has information superhighway protection to maintain viruses from getting on the pc interior the 1st place. 9. vehicle quarantines viruses and alerts you while one if got here across. and... 10. No configuration is needed... wish this preparation enables. solid success and stay secure...

A lot of people will say Norton but I had it on my computer and I don't think it works as well as people say it does. I use the free version of Avast and it is the best anti-virus program that I have used. You get access to the most popular anti-virus downloads here http://freeavdownload.com/ which includes Norton and Avast.

The answer...is a trick one! There is no silver bullet to stop every virus out there; rather, you should combine different security solutions to protect your computer from online threats (man, I sound like a PR dude). I use avast antivirus and COMODO firewall and SuperAntiSpyware, and they are a good mix.

Norton is installed pretty much on every computer that u buy bu to be honest it's one of the worst. It takes up way too much ram and really makes your computer run slow. I recommend Avira and kasperky. They're the best at what they do and their high detection ratings help keep them at the top of the pack!
