i appear offline in skype when i´m online?

Dont know if anyone also had this, but in skype i always appear offline for my contacts when i´m online. How can I change this, its really annoying. I have a macbook and in msn it also happens to me that i appear offline. Please help

Thanks but I´ve tried klicking the "online" icons on the "change status" my contacts still see me as offline

You can always change your online status..
Look at the upper left edge of your skype window..
Click the Skye, and then click online status.. Change it the way you like it :D

Or an easier way.. Click the not offline symbol, it's on the left side of your name.. Click it then change it to online..

Edit:
When you see the online-status symbol, in which status are you appearing now? If you appear as online (green symbol with a tick) at your own computer and your friends do not see you as online, then it means that your friend is the one who's offline..
