Why is Heracles called Hercules in the Percy Jackson series?
I thought the books revolved around *Greek* mythology. Heracles is the Greek name. Hercules is the Roman name.

Because most of the public don't know that the proper Greek name is Heracles. We've been spoonfed Hollywood and Disney versions, so most people don't know the real mythologies.
So if they are presented with the real name, there would be a mass outpouring of "Huh?? That's not right!! It's Hercules!! Why'd they use Heracles??" or something like that.
Sorry, most people don't read up on mythologies, history, or just plain read in general. :S
