Is he sending me the wrong signs?

Question

I have been friends with this kid for about a year or so now.  I talk to him like every other day.  He is one of my best friends and I think he likes me.  It was an obvious to everyone but him that I like him, but he is sending me mixed messages.  I found out the other day from him that he might be moving to live with his dad in the middle of the year and he asked me what he should do.  I feel confused in what he is trying to send to me. Please, help?

He could be asking your advice as a friend and since he is, it means your opinion must hold some special meaning to him. Could it be more than friendship? Only he knows, our guesses are as good as yours. If I were you, I would ask him if he could ever see you two being more than friends. I would also explain to him you wouldn't wish to see him go because he has a special place in your heart, but you understand the fact a girl shouldn't barricade someone from doing something they truly wish to proceed with. It shows him you're caring, he means more than he might expect, and that you're understanding either way. Ask yourself what you have to lose and balance it with what you may potentially gain. Now is the time to make baby steps; every long journey begins with a single step and if you don't at least make an attempt now you may live the rest of your life regretting it.

just ask any of his friends of what he thinks of you so that you'll know how he feels about you and then you can make an informed decision
