Hacker takes money from account?

A hacker took money from my account.

The bank does not want to compensate me.

Is this right?

If the bank cannot keep my money safe, who can.

What can I do to get my money back?

The answer is in the terms and conditions for your account. Ask the bank for a copy; they should have paper versions there.

The usual clause in these cases is that you are responsible for lost money up to a certain point (or that the bank is only liable to give you back a certain amount, can't quite remember that bit) but that the bank is responsible to return any money taken after you have informed them of the problem.

If you discover they are at fault if they don't return you money, then point out the relevant clause to the manager of your branch. If this doesn't work, then tell him/her that unless the bank meets their obligations, you will be contacting the banking ombudsman. If the bank still doesn't meet their obligations, then contact the ombudsman. A local government office or the phone book will help you track down the ombudsman.

Talk to the online manager at your bank, if you can prove that your account was hacked (it doesn't matter where the hacker got his info) by an outside source they should be able to help you recoup some of your losses.

They are responsible for your money, it would be no different than if someone stole your credit or debit card and used it.

The proof is all you need.

touch PayPal as we talk. There are 2 themes right here: the 1st is the reason of the preliminary debit. Is it some variety of cost-back? confirm if that is valid. if so, you will would desire to pay it. If no longer, contest it. the 2d are those habitual expenditures of $35. you elect that to renounce. chatting with PayPal probable supplies up that 2-day cycle of submitting a cost, having it leap, and then getting assessed a value. good success.

If there is someway you can prove it was not you or a person you allowed to take the money you should be able to be compensated because you are FDIC secure.

Technically, it was not the bank that did not keep your money safe. If you downloaded something and don't have an antivirus program, then YOU are the one being "un-safe"
