LORD is another name for God. Notice the CAPITOL letters. You are just told that "Jehovah" is God's only name. That is a lie. God has other names, and "Jehovah" is not in my Bible. YHWH is!

It shows respect to use a personal name that someone encourages us to use.

Think about it like this: You're invited to visit the President of the United States. Upon meeting him, you "Hello, Mr. President." He looks at you and says "Please... call me Barack." Would you not feel honored, seeing that the president didn't want to stand on formality, but wanted to have a personal relationship with you?

It's the same with the God whose name for centuries has been known as Jehovah in various languages throughout the earth.

Here is the first scripture in your list, from the Restored King James Bible: I am יהוה: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

That we recognize God has a personal name is what's important, not what that name is... be it Yahweh, YHWH, JHVH, or Jehovah. It's that we ascribe a significance to what that name means: the Tetragrammaton means "He causes to become."

Just as every person's name means something, so too does God's personal name. He will cause his purpose to become manifest, no matter what. And that purpose has been made known to mankind through the pages of the Bible.

IF you wrote a book, or for arguments sake SOMEONE else wrote a book about YOU and put YOUR PERSONAL name in that book 7,000 times. Say there were about 40 people that helped and most of them used your personal name in that book to give you honor and praise, after all it was about YOU..

NOT only would YOU be upset, but think about the 40 writers that had their work altered THAT much.

LIVID.... IF I were the secretary or the transcriptionist, or the journalist that wrote the piece, I WOULD BE livid...

Yet they gave all the credit to that masterpiece to the CREATOR of energy and power,,

and some remove that name??

Imagine what they have in store for that. It is worse than going and getting originals of The Mona Lisa or David or the Sistine Chapel and altering it to be something completely different.

It would be like taking VanGogh's cafe at night and turning it into a disco for modern "pop" art.

Or your brand new car and painting your neighbors kids name in bright letters all over your new car.

Here is the kicker, this work of art that has been desecrated also had a clause in it about anyone who changed it in Revelations...

The original works used the tetragramaton which was a symbol placing that name above all other names and was VERY descriptive and exact about WHO this was about and HIS plans and history. By keeping the work exactly as it was, it made clear, different people and objectives.

It will be cleared up, and those with honest hearts will do their research will know the truth that sets them free. If they care about truth. They know who's original work and name is supposed to be there.

but the fact is that the Christian tradition of rendering the tetragrammaton as "the lord" goes back to **the writing of the gospels** - that is, that rendering has been used since before the individual Scriptures of the Bible were all completed - and hundreds of years before they were first assembled into what we know as "the Bible".

SO: although it is not the best system, using "the lord" has been the practice common to Christianity since before the first Bibles were made.

Evidence: we have **no** Greek manuscripts that use the tetragrammaton in the New Testament Scriptures, and look at this:

No, it don't make sense but I can show to you .......Revelation 22:18 and 19 ---> 18 “I am bearing witness to everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone makes an addition to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll; 19 and if anyone takes anything away from the words of the scroll of this prophecy, God will take his portion away from the trees of life and out of the holy city, things which are written about in this scroll.
