recharging the a/c in my truck?
ok i have a 95 dodge ram and my a/c is out of coolant.. refrigerant i guess. i had it filled up professionally a couple years back but it all leaked out within months. and since that cost me an arm and a leg i would like to do it again on my own. now the local canadian tire has the necessary supplies but i am just wondering how to go about doing it.
for example the simplest kit comes with two bottles of refrigerant and the proper hose, connectors, and guages to fill it up. but i have a leak. so i can also get a leak fix and a seal fix. one presumably would fix up a hole in the line somewhere and the other would fix up the seals if they are worn out or dried up.
sooo what should i do? go with the leak stop of the seal fix first?

For the type of leak you have leak stops won't work. If you are trying to do it on a budget, I suggest you get a A/C repair manual to help you fix the problem your self. It can be done with the right information. I've seen do it yourself repair manual on Ebay for around $5.00 bucks. Good luck with your project.

When it comes down to you putting any of those products into the system, and you hope the system works again and THEN having to take it into a shop and pay a lot of money to get it to ever work again. Or taking it into the certified AC shop now and getting the leak fixed proper and the system recharged.
Which one are you going to choose?
