SSD or Samsung Spinpoint?
I am building a PC and can''t decide between SSD or Hard drive. Has anyone got experience with both? Thanks for any help.

SSD's are good, but they are limited and have a very short lifespan - the individual cells can normally only withstand 1000-2000 write operations.
Until the technology matures, I would stick with a hard drive for now. I use a samsung spinpoint and find it to be very fast and very reliable =)

currently people with lots of money to spend tend to get a 40 or 80 gig SSD as a boot drive to install windows on because its a very fast hard drive that means boot times go down to about 5 seconds or less.
however they all have a 500 gig or 1 TB hard drive in for installing games etc on as 80 gigs is not enough to run a modern computer off.
so basically if you have the money for a SSD as a boot drive (just install windows 7 on it) then go for it if not though a 500 gig or 1TB hard drive is fine
