i need help buying a curling iron?

ok so i asked a family friend to bring me one, she got me this babyliss curl-press thing and it's AWFUL. i'd like some suggestions on affordable irons which give the kind of curl that..err..hilarie burton has going on in one tree hill. like this. http://images.fanpop.com/images/image_uploads/Peyt...

    There are many curling irons you can get for cheap and it works perfectly! I mean for hilarie burton curls, get a 1/4 in. curling iron. It will make smaller curls. if your hair is long, i recommend 1/2 in. because it would take forever with 1/4 in. :)!!

    i could recomend the curling iron I even have yet its fairly costly and you're in basic terms goning to apply yours a pair cases. so i could basically recoment procuring a 2 inch curling iron from walmart, or objective.
