Rugby League Position?
I have recently lost a heap of weight, and gotten real lean, fit, and quick. I am 6'1 and atm 74kgs (hopefully by next year 80kg after weights). I'm getting back into rugby league. What position should I play in the under 21's. I used to play prop, but that was 4 years and 40 kilos ago.

A good, quick, rangy lock is an asset to any team .. if you're not keen on being a forward then try the centres.

How good are your ball skills? The centres would most likely be the best position for you, 2nd row maybe if you used to be a prop and are looking to be around the 80kg mark, both positions sound more than viable for you, the main difference will be if you are better at open field running then centre would be your option of if you like taking the direct hit up approach then second row would suit better. On the other hand if you have great ball skills then you could always play closer to the action, maybe even lock if you are a good defender. Most importantly get practicing and find a position that 1. suits you and 2. that you feel comfortable and enjoying playing!

Your build suggest an outside backs position, particularly if you're still in your teens and already 183cm tall. Height is a handy thing for fullbacks and wingers when it comes to fielding high kicks. If you have the ability to get off the ground and above your opposing player it is a great advantage. At only 78kg's your height is a bit much for a forwards position. If you were both tall and a bit bulkier you would make a perfect back rower from my experience in the game. I'm about your weight myself and about 5cm shorter but when I was playing years ago I was close to 10kg's heavier which doesn't seem a great deal but it made all the difference when I was moved from playing five-eighth to playing back row when we had some injuries in our forward pack. Look out for clubs in your area. You have a great deal of time to research between now and the start of the next season.

I would think either;
Centre, this is based on your size, it could be powerful outwide with your speed,
2nd Row, this is similar to Centre but will have you hitting the ball up, another advantage of your size, however this position could also give you some speed up the middle,
Lock, playing here you could pretty much combine the above 2 positions and it gives you just a bit more experience to do your own thing (a good position if you can read the play),
Hooker, probably not the best choice because of your height but a bit of speed up the middle never hurt (this depends on your ball skills).
Hope i helped.

Center I would say or Even 2nd Row. Id say you may be abit small to do 2d Row but if you were a prop 4 years ago you should still have the mentality of taking a hit up or 2 every set.
