Do you know any good wild west and/or civil war songs?

Johnny Cash had a number of tunes like that, Marty Robbins also.

A couple I know almost by heart from Johnny Cash are "The Big Battle", "When The Roses Bloom Again" and "Johnny Yuma the Rebel", these are all Civil War related.

The western related ones I know offhand are "Don't Take Your Guns To Town", "Sons Of Katie Elder" and Ballad of Boot Hill.

And, although it's not country, I'd recommend the album "Blue and Gray" by the country-rock band Poco. Front man Rusty Young has a degree in history, and he developed a concept album about the War of the Rebellion (what the Union called the war). It's very good.

Wild West:

Best album to get is "Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs" by Marty Robbins. Marty had quite a few "western" themed songs, and this album stands as one of his best -- not just of that theme, but of his entire career.

I'd also recommend the discography of the band Riders in the Sky. They keep the great traditions of Western music alive (proving that there IS a difference between country and western).
