I need nail colors/designs...?
My nails are relatively short, but I don't want to get fake nails for my coming-up prom. I tried out gold nail polish, but it's so tacky. My dress is brown, my accessories are gold, and I'm now currently stumped with what to do with my nails. (I'd go without, but my nails are easily broken and look terrible...) Can anyone give me pictures or just tell me what I could do?
I know well of the Hard As Nails by Sally Hansen. I just can't afford at the moment to go out and buy a new bottle of it. And I also can't go get a manicure. It's unaffordable, inconvenient, and I can't stop coughing when I even go near a salon...

The best solution is to go with the classic, and always elegant, french manicure. I feel like for prom or other big events, the dress, makeup, and jewelry should be the main features of your outfit, not your nails. Your nails should look good but not overdone. I wore a french manicure to my prom. It looked classy and beautiful, not tacky. Also, if you want them to grow a little bit longer before getting them done, look for a brand called Borghese in the drugstore, they sell this one product (the name is slipping my mind right now) that's supposed to make your nails grow faster. I'm pretty sure Sally Hansen also has a similar product. Good luck :)

French manicure would work, if you have the patience. It goes with anything. Or like, a nude light brown, similar to your dress but not matching. Any natural-ish colors, like pinks, browns, nudes, ivorys... stuff like that. If you want a design, do whatever you like. Hearts, stars, flowers, squiggles, polka dots, skulls. Have fun. Some of them might be hard to do yourself, though.
Luck :)

A plum, burgundy, dark red, or mauve would all match your dress. I wouldn't get any kind of special design, just paint them normally. If you want a specific color idea OPI "I'm Not Really a Waitress" is generally flattering on everyone.

a french would be the easiest since it matches everything and makes your nails look longer, its like an illusion.
