Ipod fell hard, i think it's dead?

I let my ipod fall allot... i don't want to but i'm clumsy as hell whatever..

Today it fell really hard and it started to make that humming sound inside and it didn't stop.

I tried resetting the damn thing and the apple-logo does appear but it doesn't change to the menu afterwards like usual.

I downloaded the new Tunes and connected the ipod to my computer but it didn't show any sign of life whatsoever. The Apple-support-site wasn't any help although my ipod referred me to it with that wretched red cross sign on the display. Now i'm really desperate... help!

    Is your warranty over? If you really want to revive it, send it to apple and have them fix it or you could just buy a new one. Other then that, I'm sorry but your iPod is either dead and/or dying. :(

    what model?

    the hard drive inside is probably damaged or loose.
