Problems communicating with girls.?
I meet girls whilst I'm out and talk to them and am able to make them laugh and relax. I don't find it difficult to ask for their numbers - they're usually pretty easy going about it.
The thing is whenever I try to call or text I never get any response. The phone will just ring and ring with no answerphone or the text will go totally ignored.
Surely they can't ALL be just giving me their number to get me to go away? Wouldn't they just walk away before I even asked for it if they didn't like talking to me? I'm fairly average looking but there's nothing drastically wrong with my appearance so I don't think it's that.
What do you think could be going on?
A couple of points that answers have raised that I'd like to address:
I don't ask for loads of numbers all at once. I generally only get one a night (if that) so they'd have no reason to suspect I'm a player. It's not happening as quickly as it sounds!
Also - how am I supposed to get to know a girl before calling her if I can't call her? That's what I'm calling her for - to get to know her...

they are just not into you...but don't let that stop you...girls will give you their number sure, but if they are not answering then move on..maybe they are just giving you it to just get rid of you, (which is dumb girls, so stop wasting a guys time, if your not interested then don't give out your number!!!) you obviously have your wits about you!! stop asking for so many numbers!! maybe your asking too many at a time and they think your a player!! chill....focus on one girl..good luck

Well it depends on ur age, because if you're 12 - 15, it's really hard because you're actually making eye contact n all LOL scaree 4 me too with this guy but n e ways just act normal, coming from a girl, u know this is the facts: girls love when guys act normal (but if normal for you is snorting in public or picking ur butt then dont) but if ur afraid to speak to her talk about these subjects: - Life - Parents - School - Stuff she likes and if you cant then just be urself and hang out, like, buy her something to eat she wont bite ;]

You need to really get to know a girl before you can call them XD. A text is fine, but calling them?! Oh no no no. Don't do that at such an early stage. It's kinda weird. It might freak them out. If you don't think it's to do with your appearance or personality then its probably just the fact that you're stepping in too early mate. :)

its because you smell like a sex offender. girls have a sixth sense and they can sniff your dangerous desperation and devious intentions.
