Need Help with the soil in the Garden in the South? SC?

Question

How do you start a garden in the south  with red soil...  we have a garden 16X16 and have added 15 bag's of Organic choice Garden soil black soil 2 cu ft  and 10 -  40 pound bag's of  Organic Humus and Manure 0.05-0.05-0.05 - should this be enough or are we missing something?  Do I need lime? any help getting this soil in growing condition for May would be appreciated.   10 points for the best answer

It depends what you are intending to grow. If it is just some grass, shrubs and trees the soil will be able to support them without any additives. Take a look at what grows in your locality (neighbours gardens and what grows naturally). This is a great indicator of what will succeed in your garden.

Don't spend anymore money on improving the soil in your garden; rather spend the money on plants that are suited to the soil type- there are so many varieties of plants for every soil type that you will not have enough space to plant all the nice ones.

I think you are good to go before you add lime have your soil tested this will tell you if you need anything else I wish you good luck you have put in a lot of work

omit residing in Myrtle coastline. Wait till March to sow seeds outdoors...veg choose complete solar, received't thrive in colour. SC soil is exceedingly sandy, you should prefer to operate properly rotted compost or manure to amend the soil. look ahead to cutting-edge flora and ornamentals to sprout, perceive them to study care/pruning/fertilizing.
