If you're 17, things like Bliss or Sugar might be a bit young, or at the very least cheesy! There's loads of good magazines depending on what you're into. 

For high-fashion, Vogue and Elle are very good. But if you want more affordable, high-street fashion, something like Look is great.

For celebrities, Hello and OK are the obvious ones, but personally I find them a bit dull and they tend to concentrate on really tacky people like Kerry Katona and Colleen Rooney. I prefer Heat, which (although still a celeb mag) covers a wider range of people and is often quite funny in the way it is written.

There's also obviously music magazines like Q or NME if you like indie/rock but there are lots of music magazines out there for other tastes (Kerrang for metal/Top of the Pops magazine which I think is still going/loads more!)

Then there are the women's weekly magazines which are aimed more at housewives I think! But if you like true-life stories and things like that then they'd be good for you.
