Why did Google choose Topeka?
Obviously it's an April Fools joke, but why Kansas over any other state? I mean to say, whether Google intended it or not, Topeka Kansas is getting lots of free attention today.

Hey, Google said "1 a.m; April 1st we changed our name to Topeka!" It is obviously an April Fools Joke! Hope this helped.

Apparently Topeka, Kansas mayor Bill Bunten announced that Topeka, KS had been unofficially renamed 'Google.' The reason Topeka, KS became Google was due to trying to woo Google to Topeka in order to get more business for the city.
