Why do my iTunes miss registry settings?
Hey..
I've been using iTunes for ages now, but all of a sudden they don't work properly anymore.
Whenever I try to open them, I get a message saying:
"Warning!
The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning Cds and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."

I don't remember installing any Cd burning software at all and I did reinstall iTunes, twice, made no difference. I updated to the newest version of iTunes, I uninstalled and reinstalled, but I keep getting the message and I still can't burn any Cd's.
I'm really running out of ideas and hope anybody can help me :D
thanks in advance,
leo

iTunes can be very difficult to uninstall properly because of a number of registry keys left behind by other pieces of software that it works with. The article explains what you have to do step by step if you can't uninstall iTunes using ADD/REMOVE programs. If you don't completely uninstall it properly you will get all sorts of errors when trying to install a new copy... even if you try to write over your existing copy. This download saved me hours of aggravation and I did not lose my music!
If you run into any trouble installing or uninstalling iTunes you will probably want to read this article before you go completely nuts!!

You mucked about with the registry, and deleted some of the files that iTunes needs to run properly. It'll still run, but certain features will be disabled. To fix this, you should uninstall, then reinstall iTunes. iTunes will rewrite all the necessary files to your computer, and it'll run perfectly. If you've already tried that... Try using Revo Uninstaller to remove iTunes. It should do a more thorough job. Then reinstall it. Beyond that, I'm really not sure. Perhaps you should try reinstalling your audio drivers? iTunes MIGHT have a repair installation feature. If it does, then this is exactly what that feature was designed to do. Use it.

Uninstall iTunes and then delete the Itunes folder in the "Programs Files" folder
in the "C" drive(If that's where you installed it) Then reboot and reinstall.
