A fair opinion please?

If the question or answer is absurd it is appropriate to point this out, no matter who said it.

That is mostly want you are going to find in this Forum. Bashing anyone who has a belief in something that don't understand. Most Religions teach Respect and Respect is not taught to those who have no Faith or Belief. Their only reason coming on R&S is to gain points and back each other up. They are called "point gamers" which is a violation of Community Guidelines. That is why, if someone does ask a serious question about a certain religion and you give a perfect answer to the question, you are most likely will receive many dumbs down for it and with that same question, you will find a demeaning answer someone posted with all dumbs up. Any question in this Forum starting with the phrase "Spiritually Speaking" is like a code for them to come and play. My answer to you will most likely get a few thumbs down and if you get enough of them, your answer gets deleted and most likely will get a violation notice, in which you can appeal. You can't report an answer that the answerer is abusing what you believe in because it is their opinion that they are voicing. If it was you, personally that they attack then you can. I know what you are thinking right now, that if they attack my belief, it's a personal on you. It is, but, not on here. Sorry!

Who makes the determination as to what constitutes abuse?

I can give you a hint: Answering the question with a differing opinion that shows that the claims made by such a "prophet" are spurious is not abuse, in any shape of the word.

This is a public forum. However, we should respect others enough to answer respectfully and not attack others beliefs. We need to understand there are others with beliefs and thoughts that are different than our own.

There is freedom of speech in most countries.

Criticism is good for the soul

at least that's what I'm told

It's aim is to make better

those to whom it is bestowed.

Still if we are really wanting to help others we give it tactfully and kindly.

And for it to help us, we need to accept it.

In genuine "life", there's no Such element as "honest". undesirable Stuff "occurs..." -issues like ailment; conflict; Earthquakes; "F's"; Stupidity; Crumby associates; Tornados; Divorces; indignant mum and dad- ( -You call some, -i ought to bypass on ALL nighttime !!!)... :o however the element IS, that as long as you reside under the Roof of the human beings who feed, gown & look after You- which you're (AND your Sister) caught doing in spite of your mum and dad inform you. So I extremely AGREE which you're being "grounded" isn't "honest"... yet once you think of approximately how lots WORSE the "unfairness" must be...- then perhaps you have extra beneficial than purely a "little bit to be happy approximately"- once you're taking a seat to Dinner- the next day.... So draw close-in-there, & attempt to have a astounding Thanksgiving... ;)

I dont think there is ever a good reason to report others.This site is for all, not just for the people who think the same way as you do.If you don't like free speech and free thought then you are in the wrong place here really.We have fought for the freedom to express our own thoughts,so I don't think you can expect people from free nations to agree to be suppressed.

The question one should ask themselves is why isn't it ok to have one's own beliefs questioned. Other opinions are not harmful they are actually helpful. They can help you see a truth that you may not have before or become more convinced of the truth you already know. We should all speak as Jesus spoke. Jesus never kept people from asking questions even if they interrupted him while he was speaking. He encouraged this kind of discourse and was not offended by it.

Consider Moses, who ordered his followers to kill many people, on many different occasions. He did this while claiming to speak for the Creator of the Universe.

Consider that an Omnipotent Creator would have no need of human messengers, he/she/it could speak directly to anyone they wished. They would have no need of human fighters to do their dirty work. It seems very unlikely that any REAL god would speak to Humankind in a way that looks exactly like untreated schizophrenia.

Human "prophets" must be presumed fraudulent unless major evidence shows otherwise. And given what these "prophets" have taught, many of them are monsters.

When you deny another his freedom, you by default approve of the idea that the freedom God grants all life forms, can be denied. This disrespect of God's greatest gift is why there is no man on this earth that is free.

What do I think ?

I think freedom of speech is wonderful, as is the maturity required to accept criticism and realise that we do not all think in exactly the same way.
