If you had to choose for your child? Just think.?

I would prefer that my child is sane.

I religion hinders inquiring minds and closes us off from our chance to seek truth for ourselves. I hate what the preconceived notions religion did to me in my life and I truly feel that I've wasted a lot of time with it. I just don't see the value at all. Even the comfort during death and hard times. It's not real to me, it's false comfort. I want to confront what is real, and the truth and let life teach me. I want my kid to get regular lessons in philosophy, for sure. No hocus pocus making me see chi swooping around, no eating crackers and grape juice, no voodoo. Nothing but the most cursory treatment of world religions until she's 12, on the curriculum.

If I had children, they would be exposed to the positive messages contained in all sacred texts--including the Tao Te Ching, The Havamal, The Papyrus of Ani, and the Beatitudes.

The negative aspects of sacred texts would be pointed out also.

Probably that of the Native American Spirit World and Mother Nature. At least, he will have a solid foundation of being respectful of nature and living things if he ever does change his mind in the future.

I'd find a religion that taught self esteem, and respect for living creatures. Probably some form of Buddhism.

Religion is man's explanation of God, which is why I don't follow it.. I follow Jesus Christ.

I don't do any church or belief system that has rituals like rosary beads or candles or statues of saints..

we belong to a non-denominational church..
