Your opinion please. A generous one will be appriciated?
I was thinking that what if all the Islamic countries can unite and make a peacemaking force (army, airforce, navy) that would help in maintaining peace in islamic countries and also help safeguard Islam. Lucky we have OIC (organization of islamic countries) that already has a framework and a platform for all muslim countries.
The Islamic peacemaker force would consist of soldiers from all islamic countries, on equal distribution.
What do you guys think of it?
It would be similar to UN peacemakers.
This islamic peacemakers can also be used to fight those extremist terrorists, that are betraying Islam.
I think it is possible, with proper leadership, co-ordination, commitment, and strategy
@ how_would_I_know: True islamic principles are based on peace. By creating such force i dont mean to kill non-muslims, but to maintain peace in islamic countries. We (muslims) have no hard feelings for any non-muslim.

Great idea, in theory. However, no Muslim nation has yet displayed the leadership necessary to form such a group, and no Muslim nations have displayed the military cooperation on a united front necessary to form such a group.

The middle east is VERY complicated. Even though most people in the middle east are united (mostly) by a common faith, there are deep, ancient rivalries that go back to times long before Islam. This, combined with the Sunni/Shiite schism present in islam itself makes it one serious undertaking.
I doubt that the Middle East will ever function similarly to the EU due to these deep-seated differences in culture. However, I think that as oil becomes less relevant due to alternative fuels, there will be less money at stake and less violence - often provoked by outside sources.

The problem is, Islam has never been interested in peace. It was formed on the ideal of killing anybody who believes differently.
Given that there are variations in belief within the Islamic systems.. that would present some large problems. Not to mention how the civilized world would react to it..

I'm reminded of a corollary to Murphy's Law: "Every difficult question has a simple, easy-to-understand wrong answer." Why would extremists be any less likely to attack Muslim peacekeepers than UN ones, considering that the vast majority of the victims of their terrorist attacks are their fellow Muslims to begin with?

Since believers of any religion follow the teachings of whatever is their holy book, what you are thinking is impossible. The koran teaches that true muslims/islamics kill the infidels. What part of kill don't you get?

And it would be similarly useless just like the UN peace keeping force. You've also not taking into account the bitter enmity between Sunni and Shi'a.

How does one "force" peace?
Living in fear is not living in peace.
It's the worst shame of all that everbody is so afraid of everybody else.
