My budgerigar or Parakeet is vomiting, what medicine to give?

My budgerigar or Parakeet is vomiting, what medicine to give? It's coughing and then vomiting out the seeds it eats along with white mucus. I have covered the cage to give it rest. What medicine to administer? I am in India, Mumbai..Please help. I love by bird verymuch....

Update:

P.S. thanks kent and wacky for your post.. this one is a solitory bird. no mates. it's attached to me very much....but I can see it's in pain...opening it's mouth and trying desparately to take something out from it's stomatch...I contacted an avian vet over the phone...tomorrow I am taking my bird to the Doc.

Is it vomiting or more of regurgitating it's food. Regurgitating is natural for birds and if there are no other birds in the cage it means it's bonded with you and wants to regurgitate for you (food is really the only gift in the wild and their stomach is the only way to hold food). If you want to ask the question more clearly so that more people can understand you that might help. If you still feel unsure and weary about your budgie go to a vet preferably an avian vet they will know what to do. Hope this helps and best of wishes.

The budgerigars become agitated, and chew on anything in search of minerals due to lonliness and depraved minerals. Depleted birds over-engorging on grit or Cuttlefish bone causing vomiting in budgerigars and occasionally death from a blocked gizzard. Laying hens fall ill, vomit and may die from gizzard obstruction after engorging on the shell grit. Anyhow, Seeking wild bird vet's advice will definitely ease the problem

Your bird is not vomiting in the sense of the word.

It is coming into breeding condition and if it has a mate it will regurgitate food and if it is attached to you as it's mate then it will do this to you in a token of affection.

So please do not give it any medicines ,they can do more harm than good.
