does anyone remember this movie/ tv show episode?

Question

i don't have very many details. but the plot of it involved a man. he was given a second chance by an angel that kept repeating throughout the rest of the movie/show. i guess he went back in time to try and change the future. his fiancee or girlfriend was going to die. i remember one scene in the snow at the park with snowballs... does anyone remember anything like this? i just know it made me cry a lot. really touched me when i was younger and now i can't remember it.
