Do you believe that God answers prayers?
Religious people say that he always does, but I can't see it. I've known several people who have prayed for an event but their prayers went unanswered. I see people praying for their dying relatives and also those in peril from natural catastrophes (children included). But these too are unanswered. How do you feel about this?

I think I may be preaching to the choir here but there is no god to answer any ones prayers. You seem to know that already. The only prayers I ever hear about are the ones that christians think were answered. The ones that weren't seem to be forgotten. If you pray every day to an ant hill for different things, some will seem to have been answered. It's just the odds.Ask a christian to pray to an ant hill instead of god and they will refuse to do so because it's blasphemy. The religion has them so scared they won't even entertain the thought of trying to prove praying is just as productive as asking a hill full of ants.

prayers are tricky. sometimes we pray for things that are unreasonable like to win the lottery and some are simply out of necessity like to have a meal that night but i think ultimately we are each here to learn certain lessons and experience certain things and some of those things are not pleasant and some are heartbreaking or painful and i don't think that the unanswered prayer is because god has turned his back on you or is not receiving the request sometimes it just simply isn't in the plan for you.
the greatest thing god ever denied me was a relationship i desperately clung to that again and again and again went into the trash and i prayed so hard and wanted so badly for it to work but it was not in the cards for me and at this point i can say it was a hard lesson learned but i am a better person for it and am actually much happier in my life than i would have been had my prayers been answered. it is like a parent, not always doing what you would like but with your best interest at heart.
don't stop praying though because you are heard, and sometimes he does answer.

Well, I'm a Deist so I see God differently than most. Rather than seeing God as the Father, Son, and/or Holy Spirit, I see God as simply an inexplainable, higher power that is responsible for creation and is the catalyst for life. I do not believe in God the judge, codemner, or punisher as portrayed in the Bible. Most Deists believe God to be impersonal and we do not attempt to explain God by attaching human traits or thinking patterns upon him. I do not think God answers prayers simply based on reason. God gives us free choice and free will to make our own decisions and suffer the consequences. But, building on the gentleman's thoughts just up above me, if we hypothetically say that the Bible is the inerrant word of God and use it to support Christian claims, the Bible says that if you knock the door will open, and if you ask you shall receive. There are numerous places where the Bible says one only has to ask in the name of Jesus and it's granted. Sick people will be healed, and so on. One can infer that either the Bible lied, or Christians don't care about sick people because hospitals are full of dying people who have prayed and been prayed for, and many of them are Christians.

this may well be an excellent question. in basic terms think of the indians worshiped a God. uncertain yet per danger the solar or something. besides per danger God solutions prayers for individuals whether they're right into a diverse style of religion simply by fact he loves us that plenty. distinctive the time while people pray they want something somewhat undesirable and God knows that and solutions the prayer in spite of the guy religious selection. that's what i think of a God that loves his advent unconditionally might do.

Death was not part of God’s original purpose for mankind
The Bible account of Genesis explains that to allow the first human couple, Adam and Eve, opportunity to manifest their love and loyalty, God placed a simple test upon them. It consisted of a prohibition against eating from one particular tree. God said: “In the day you eat from it you will positively die.” (Genesis 2:17) Adam and Eve would die only if they rebelled, thus failing the test. The Bible account reveals that they proved disloyal to God, and therefore they died. In this way, imperfection and death were introduced into the human family..
God does answer prayers..alot of people dont understand for example:
your uncle is really sick and is on his death bed..and everyone is praying..but then he dies..well you see to us death is the end and so devestating but to God..its not..he gives us hope when it comes to death and suffering..
Resurrection of the dead
“The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.”—John 5:28, 29.
“There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.”—Acts 24:15.
All go to one place, all are of the dust, and all will be turned to dust again.”—Ecclesiastes 3:19, 20, The Bible in Basic English.
there is no activity, feeling, emotion, or thought in death.—Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10.
Quelle(n): “[God] has planted eternity in men’s hearts.”—Ecclesiastes 3:11 Basically God has a plan and we need not to worry about alot but rather put faith in him..I hope this has helped..have a great night!! =) - dartagnon pLv 6vor 1 Jahrzehnt
In 1983 I had 8 bonechips in my knee after the cops twisted it and I went to the doc. He x-rayed it and I prayed that it would heal and 2 weeks later he wanted to check it after the swelling left and x-ray it again so that he could set it up for an operation to remove the bone chips. THE BONE CHIPS HAD DISAPPEARED!
In 1988 I was run over by ANOTHER car on my mtn bike and it severed the cruciate in my knee. It took 3 months but one night I was watching Oral Roberts on TV ... not on purpose but my knee was too sore to get up to change the channel and he started to pray for what he described as my knee, exactly. I sat back and looked up and said "Hey, you wanna heal it? Go for it!" and my knee got super hot and when I woke in the morning the pain and swelling were gone and I could not only walk on it but I went skiing down double diamonds at Dodge Ridge and mtn biked to the top of Mt Toro (about 2800 feet), after my doctor told me that my knee would tear off from the pressure since only a couple of small ligaments were holding it in place.
In 1992 I had a vocal cord nodule that was threatening to turn cancerous. My doc wanted to operate but I worried that would alter my voice. I prayed over it and before he could operate on it, THAT was healed.
SO, if God does NOT exist then I am One HECK of a mind healer. Actually I am considered to be an Empathic Healer but I have always relied on God for the "heavy duty voltage spike" to get things done. They say God lives within us all ... maybe there is more to that than we know.
Those who don't believe can't see the goodness of God b/c they just don't believe. It takes someone with faith to know the mysteries of the world and I for one enjoy being the God of MY World and when I need things done I STILL pray to St. Germain, Ra, Jesus Christ, and whoever else will hear my prayers. Are my prayers answered? Hell ya! Do I care who answers them? Heck NO! As LONG AS THEY GET ANSWERED!
Amen and Amen.
I AM

I believe God always answers prayers. Sometimes the answer is no. It has nothing to do with believing enough or being good or bad. None of that stuff matters. According to scripture, there is nothing we can do to change the will of God and God's will is accomplished in the fullness of time.

some who claim they were answered had prayed for something which was going to happen anyway others what happens could just as easily be a coincidence, and another thing the guy on about the bee a bee will not sting you unless it feels it absolutely must they usually die once they sting as its hooked shaped they rip their own guts out when they try to fly off

The claimed "answers" to prayers are indistinguishable from no answers to prayers.
To justify that, christians have come up with non-biblical sayings such as, "God answers all prayers -- with either yes, no, or maybe."
If they'd bother to read their own bible, though, they'd clearly see that their claims are refuted by it: magic jesus, for example, specifically says (more than once) that *anything* you ask in prayer in his name will be given to you. Notice he doesn't say, "Anything you ask for in my name will get a yes, no, or maybe answer..."
The lengths people go to delude themselves are truly sad.
Peace.

Yes He does.
But God is not a vending machine insert prayer and get what you want
God has a standard and We have to abide in His standard and obey His Word and live according to His will.
Jer 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
Jhn 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him
James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
