Female dogs of any breed are generally, less aggressive, easy to train depends on the individual dog and the training methods.

You can get a Malamute in ANY color, the same as a Husky. You will pay more for a healthy sable in both breeds. The differences are really what they were bred for. Huskies were originally bred for speed, think of them as the carpool lane of dog sleds. They would pull lighter loads very fast. The Mals were the truckers. They pulled the freight, heavier loads over longer periods. Both are EXTREMELY smart. Smarter than you. Unless you have a VERY good fence and sense of humor, neither will be the dog for you. If you don't want to have conversations (wookie talk) with your pet, with them doing most of the talking/complaining. You might chose differently. Both require a ton of time to train, even if you chose not to do sledwork. I mean daily training their entire lives. They WILL test you, to see if you are still the Alpha. Some suggest if you have children or will, neither is the proper choice. I disagree. My child was raised with a Giant Alaskan Malamute from birth until she passed of old age, at 14 (he was 4). We now have two more Giant Alaskan Malamutes from our local rescue. We fostered first and then adopted them both as a bonded pair. Why not check out your rescues and go visit some? We have people visit all the time. VERY few pick a Malamute.
