How can we still be believing in god?

I mean, there were always gods, probably even during the Stone Age, people already had gods, and they were already fighting each other on who had the "cooler" god, but I think we should move on. How BY ANY CHANCE do you think that THIS ONE GOD is the true one, and all, all the thousands of other gods, are wrong?? We don't need any evidence to see this. Only if you are very small minded you can believe that any of the religions is the right one. Maybe there is a "God" something that created the universe ( I don't believe so OK ), but seriously, isn't the fact that people have always worshipped gods evidence enough of that there is no "true" religion ?

Update:

To Answer: Thats what they always said, except that it always was a different god, maybe in 1000 years we will all worship the flying spaghetti monster, just as believable...

Update 2:

To Moondogg: My problem is not with Christianity, my problem is with the usage of the term "god". I don't know a lot about Buddhism ( is it even a religion? ), but I think that "religion" should be a representation of ones moral beliefs, instead of a forced fear that makes people belief...

Update 3:

To Karyn: (quote) "humans have an inborn psychological need and knowledge that there is a higher power"

you have just made everything you said ridiculous...

Update 4:

To Dave Rc: How does this give ANY proof at all? I don't want proof for god, I want proof for that your religion is the right one, and how it is the right one compared to 10000 others ?

Great question. I couldn't agree more. Of course, you are aware you are about to get a bunch of stupid, irrational answers hammering you for even having the gall to think for yourself instead of simply following some imaginary sky fairy blindly and without reason. Thought you could use the support. Have a Great day my friend.!!

Since the beginning, man has known there is a god, and since His name and true nature was forgotten, and not understood for a long time, humans set up false gods, then over 2000 years ago, He revealed Himself to us with the birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior of us all. His presence was not accepted or recognized by all, so the practice of setting up gods has been maintained, because humans have an inborn psychological need and knowledge that there is a higher power, and create their own when they don't perceive/know the one true God. We who have found Him have the desire and assignment to share Him with everyone, and make His wonderfulness known to all.

So your problem isn't with God per se, but with exclusionary religious traditions?

One can know FOR CERTAIN that the Christian God is the One True God by praying the rosary regularly. See the following promises.

    The rosary is explained here:

    http://www.ewtn.com/Devotionals/Prayers/rosary/how...

The fifteen promises of Mary to Christians who recite the rosary:

    1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces.

    2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.

    3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against Hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.

    4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.

    5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.

    6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God and become worthy of eternal life.

    7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.

    8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death, they shall participate in the merits of the saints in Paradise.

    9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.

    10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.

    11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.

    12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.

    13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire Celestial Court during their life and at the hour of death.

    14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only Son, Jesus Christ.

    15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

    God bless!

    Dave

    I agree.

And the fact that every single religion out there thinks they are the absolute truth.

All of us are going to some sort of hell, if you think about it.

There has always been one God. All the other Gods were corrupt forms introduced to the people by Satan.

    It's silly, isn't it?

Some speculate there's a genetic need for religious belief, that might explain it.
