we have just found out that our unborn grandchild is smaller than normal & has water around her heart?
Our daughter just had a second ultrasound cause the doctor thought she should be bigger. We have no heriditary conditions on either side of the family with any heart disease or deffects. were concerned just that the baby has water around her heart.( no not the regular fluid-=---WaTER.. What could be the cause of this? what does this mean? What causes this in a fetus?
More details- I can find some information on this condition for older children but not fetus's- should we be concerned

It's called fetal pericardial effusion. It can be caused by RH disease or edema. Sometimes it happens for no reason.
