How old can men have kids until?
I'm 24 seriously dating a 40 year old man. I'm thinking about the future if we get married. Will he be able to have kids 10 years from now? I know technically it's possible but how likely would it be to get pregnant?

You shouldn't have a problem, but what I'm worry about more is he going to want kids when he's 50 years old? There's a reason he doesn't have kids at 40. Just make sure you're both on the same page before you make any commitments like marriage. I knew of one couple a long time ago... big age gap. The woman wanted kids, he acted like he did, but would do whatever he could to NOT have kids, so she kept hoping that he would change his mind. She married him and they were together for like 5-10 years. She was getting older and tired of his "games", so she divorced him and she got pregnant and had a kid with someone 1-3 years after divorcing him.

Im 21 and hes 33 and to be honest kids have nothing to do with your relationship. It seems you both have a lot in common, he seems like a really awesome guy, why not give it a try honestly my situation is similar to yours and i can honestly say ive never met someone so caring as him, i wouldnt change him for the world. My not give him diplomatic advice about the custody battle, make him know that you are interested in the best outcome.. Of course he is interested in you, if he wasnt trust me he wouldnt bring all these things up.... Dont feel as if your rushing things because it will happen when it has to happen

40 is nothing. I knew an 80 year old man that had a 5 year old daughter. As long as your man takes care of himself, he should be able to father children (if he doesn't get any erectile problems...which they have meds for) for years to come. Men tend to keep their ability longer than women in general.

Yes, men can have children later in life, but new studies have shown that the quality of sperm decrease over age 40, and this means a greater risk of genetic problems.

He will be able to have children, but will he want to? Will he be able to be active with them? Also you should consider that risks increase as you get older. Like when a man has a baby later in life the chance of autism is greatly increased. No matter your decisions, you should talk to him about what he wants in the future.

A man in his 80's might take a few weeks longer to be able to fertilize than a younger one, but they can still do it.

men can have kids as long as their equipment works..however with age quality and count worsen.. and and 10years you will be pushing it in years yourself..the older u are the more risks there are.

well, a man never loses his sperm like us women do. i think that the oldest man to ahve a child was like 88 years old, but i think he had it with his daughter but w/e to that. anyways, my answer is ....yes, it is possible to have kids when the guy is 50. Good Luck & Happy New Year!
