Why can't my PS3 connect wirelessly and find my IP when testing the connection?
Listen. I posted this question before and people just said "Just unplug your modem and router and try again." It doesn't work that way on mine. I did it thousands of times and had this problem for years now. I tried connecting wired and it works. So I thought it obtained the IP by now but it didn't when I wirelessly tried it. Yes, I know my SSID and my router works for the laptop perfect so nothings wrong with that. If it helps, i have a Netgear FWG114P router (G connection). My modem connects to Comcast. Any thing would help. Thanks!

Try using the manual setting. When it says type the IP and other stuff write ipconfig(without space) on your cmd. You can do this by searching in the start menu and typing cmd. You wil find the details in that black window after you type it. Just copy those and you should be fine.
