looking for songs for a slideshow about my exchange in france. can anyone think of any?

You posted this question under 'Country'. If it is for a reason I suggest 'Je t'aimais, je t'aime, je t'aimerai' by Francis Cabrel. It is the closest song to the country and folk genre that comes to mind for me. The lyrics are excellent and meaningful, and they probably would be appropriate.

If you are looking for an instrumental piece, 'Claire de lune' by Claude de Bussey or 'La mer' (uncertain of composer) are classic and well-known tunes associated with France.

Otherwise, you could consider looking up the current top hits on the French charts. (A number of the songs might be from the English-speaking lists.)

You might find 'Milord', a peppy classic piece, and 'La vie en rose', a slower, jazzier song, to be useful, either in vocal or instrumental form.

I suggest instrumentals for background - some tunes by Chet Adkins , Floyd Cramer or Del Wood would work well

How about something instrumental, like played with a piano?
