How to change default address bar search engine?

Hey I accidentally downloaded something that changed my search bar (address bar, NOT the second search bar) to yahoo instead of the previous google. ive tried that retarded about:config thing and it DOESNT work. ive also tried installing google for EVERYTHING and it still wont go back to google search when i type in a url.

help please?

    For Internet Explorer

    Click the down arrow in the search box in the upper right.

    Select Manage Search Providers.

    Change the default.

    Find More Providers should bring you to a list where you can add more to the list.

    For Firefox

    Type about:config into the URL box.

    Type keyword.url into filter

    For Google use this parameter

    http://www.google.com/search?q=

    For Yahoo use this parameter

    http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=
