Did the journalists have to be murdered, too?

Question

if the culprits' intention was to silence their rival, why include the journalists and the other innocent victims who were at the wrong place at the wrong time like the workers who happened to tag behind the convoy?

Was the anger and hatred so overwhelming that the master planner had to annihilate everyone who dared cross him?  Unbelievable...and I thought this kind of scene only happens in films.

wrong place...wrong time. u said a mouthful right there. u also dont want to leave any witnesses (though some got away).but most of all, this sends a message. it doesnt matter who u are, they'll take u out if they have to.

Nobody deserved that, and over what a town mayor???   The saddest part is a few local cops will take the  rap for it, but the bastard  behind it gives votes for GA, so he wont even be touched.

Those brave journalists were there to perform their duty, so they were at the right place at the right time.  The murderers shouldn't have been there.

It was a case of killing the chicken to scare the monkey.  It's a sad act, more cowardly than shooting a person who was brushing his teeth.

i can't find the right word how to describe those murderers....they are like a puppet or a robbot who seems know nothing about what are they doing just to follow their leaders..!
