my baby has sacral dimple,anybody knows about it?

Question

I have 3 and half months old son. Just after he was born, after doctor examine him, he said he has sacral dimple. Sometimes it causes serious illnesses, very rarely though; doctor said. Does anybody else have it? Please tell me what you know about it. I am worried about my beautiful son.

the doctor should of done an ultrasound of his back to make sure he is not leaking spinal fluid its a form of spinalbifita but  they can walk both of my kids had if after they did an ultrasound and seen they were not  leaking spinal fluid  they told me they would be fine good luck hun get an ultrasound of his back done

My son had that at birth, though I don't recall it being diagnosed as a "sacral dimple" per se.  But that was mostly because it was closed, not open and therefore not considered a real problem.    As he grew it disappeared.   He had a tiny tuft of hair in it too, it was very, very strange looking.  It was gone before 6 months though.

My son had/has it.  He is 2 1/2 now.  I really don't know anything about it, they were not concerned at all about it when he was born.  They've looked at it at every well visit, but have always said it was fine.
