Is anyone else sick of the "balloon boy" drama? Is it a hoax, real, or a case of child abuse?

I have seen nothing but this former wife swap guest being paraded around the television and i want to know why? is there not more important than an entire nation running after a homemade helium balloon that some boy was mistaken to have jumped in? In my opinion this is all fake and they should investigate but media has blown it out of proportion. What do you think?

There where so much inconsistencies reported. I felt sick for the boy, when I heard it first, but the second I heard, that the parents where known as media clowns, I knew, it was a hoax.

Fool me once. This guy (father) has a history of hoaxes, why the sheriff fell for this one, is anybodies guess.

I am personally sick of the media reporting none researched crap. They knew, the family had in all glory filmed the take off, of the makeshift balloon, which could not even have carried a chicken. Why would a father let a balloon go, not knowing, where his 6 year old son is. Why would his other son watch take off, knowing, his brother was in the balloon?

The sheriff is incompetent, the media out of control and we the public say nothing.

From Kardashian, to Paris Hilton, from Sixlets to the Octomom, from listening from Limbaugh to Glenn Beck, we are a sorry nation of idiots, watching insignificant other idiots, instead of making this a stronger, better educated nation.

i am sick of it and it is really hard to tell whether it was fake or not. I mean the family was on wife swap so they did get media attention before. But when you listen to the 911 call of the dad he sounds like he really is scared. But i don't know. I don't think the state of Colorado should press charges however. But maybe they did just want media attention. Honestly i don't know. But the reason they are making such a big deal out of it is because news is slow lately that is really not that much to talk about. And one thing is for sure americans love suspense! they absolutely love it. And the news loves to exaggerate anything that they are able to. The kid was only six. When i was six and thought i would get in trouble for something i would go hide out in my backyard. I feel really bad for the kid however. All over the news. Most kids hide somewhere in their house just for fun and now there is a huge uproar about it. Just because that hiding from their parents for a few hours that every kid does at least once during their childhood. has stretched out a little bit. Everyone has to make a big deal out of it.

Vigilantism is wholly improper as is the abuse of the susceptible - or any one for that topic. What plenty of humans put out of your mind whilst calling for vigilante motion are the irresponsible newshounds of the gutter press who love not anything greater than to stir the pot. Often with the outcome that the blameless are wrongly targetted, and the revenue of such papers raises. Also what approximately the abuse of kids BY kids (as in university bullying), that is in most cases disregarded or pushed aside as 'horseplay', may also be simply as harmful. We do ned an overhaul of social offerings and extra coins going to kid's AND aged offerings. The rule of regulation have to succeed

You're right about it being fake, it was all for publicity. I think the parents should have criminal charges against them. The National Guard and police were all involved at the cost of tax payers money. Not to mention all the worry about the kid. They should be prosecuted.

It was most definitely a hoax. If the parents know that Falcon always hides in the attic when he does something wrong, why didn't they think of looking for him in the attic?

These people are attention seekers and I also don't think that these chidlren are in good hands.

It's a publicity stunt gone bad. I'm glad that the father didn't actually put his son in the homemade balloon....then he would have been in bigger trouble.

see what people are not getting is that is was a hoax. But it wasn't the parents idea it was the kids idea because they refuse to buy him a toy. But he wouldn't get the blame because its parents responsablity.
