Can you record from a DVR to a DVD?
I have AT&T's Uverse system which records on its own DVR. Occasionally I would like to record a science or historical program on my DVD recorder for my grandchildren at the appropriate point in their lives. Is there any way to do this?

With AT&T U-verse you cannot record to a DVD Recorder because the U-verse cable box blocks the signal to digital recorders.

Hope someone is still listening to this thread! :>)
I got ATT U-verse in 2014, with a Cisco converter/DVR box. I can record off any non-HD channels live, but if I try to record any DVR recording, my DVD recorder pitches a "Cannot record a +VR signal". My DVD recorder is an older Magavox model, "ZC320MW8". Also, any attempt to record on-demand shows of any kind is refused by the DVD recorder saying it is not allowed.
Any suggestions will be welcome!
Thanks1

If your DVR has an AV (red, white, yellow) output, then connect them to your DVD recorder, and record. Some DVRs have a "copy to VCR" mode that makes this even easier.
Question to Uverse-how does the DVR know it's connected to a DVDR, and not a TV?

you could desire to run them by skill of an photograph stabilizer to bolster them and get rid of copyguardand checklist them on a dvd recorder. you ought to use a computing gadget to checklist them with particular interfaces; 2 I even have tried are; Diamond extreme television tuner. This works ok yet is quite very time ingesting. Dazzle DVD recorder DVC a hundred and one. it fairly is quite no longer basic to stick to, yet after lots difficulty, will do the interest. Recording from one medium to DVD takes the time of the unique playback, plus some recoding to the dvd mode and then ultimately burning onto the dvd disk. If DVD recorders weren't so fragile i might desire to propose paying for a mix dvd/vhs recorder. DVD recorders do no longer very final very long. My Pioneer DVD recorder burned out after some years and no person will restoration it. I even have been reading approximately diverse manufacturers burning out after actual a twelve months.
