Because deep down inside they know they have doubts about their belief, and they act out by bashing a belief that they are afraid to accept. It's easier to hate than to love.

I feel empty in my life?

Huh... why do some Christians always assume that atheists feel empty in their lives? I'm sorry, but that's very ignorant of you. Very, very ignorant.

I, in fact, love my life and think I would be miserable as a Christian. You may be the other way around, but all people aren't the same. I like to be unique. As I said before, that's very ignorant.

To answer your question, every atheist I know, including me, only bash Christians when they bash us. So don't go on assuming that we feel 'empty'.

I am a pastafarian and i find it very intriguing that these people who don't recognize the Flying Spaghetti Monster in their lives feel so empty that they need to go and put down believers in conversations/questions not targeted to them you don't believe you don't believe right?

If you'll go into the questions directed at atheists, you might notice that loads of theists are posting answers insulting atheists. Is that because they are empty inside? Is it because they want to bash non-belief? Is it because they secretly don't believe?

The 'bashing' is actually 'inability to take seriously. I have yet to have anyone believe in my Giant Ant God, who created everything in 11 weeks, including you and me. Of course, I wouldn't expect you to agree with me unless I gave you some pretty good reasons to believe, such as connecting my Ant God to reality with evidence.

I can hardly expect others to respect my bizarre, illogical, unreasonable, and unsubstantiated claims. I would expect to be bashed, and the Bible even expects those who believe it to be bashed, in fact, the Bible calls believers to 'rejoice when you are persecuted because of [Christ], for great is your reward in Heaven'.

No we are not empty, it is the religious who are empty and feel like they need a "big brother"(1984 reference) in their life. I just dont believe in such a being, why is it that this argument can be turned the other way around? It's usually the religious putting us down.

Why, when they ask a question like this, do they only add the word 'some' as an afterthought? I think you meant to broad brush atheists but when you were called out on it, you decided to add the word 'some' to your details.

how would you know what we feel? most atheist use to b christains who accept logic and decided to follow the evidence. I only debate because when someone claim they are right and that what anyone says contradicts it's automatically wrong. Face it you got no evidence on your side.

It's not "bashing" to insist on evidence before we'll take you or your god seriously -- stop playing the victim.
