What exactly is considered to be enough proof and evidence?
the other day a question was posted about, "Atheists: Do you care about going to heaven"
an judging by allot of the answers, it seems as tho an Atheist does not want anything to do with God.
Then what in world would they consider to be substantial evidence
I mean if I didn't want to believe in God, what exactly can convince me that he exists to begin with... wouldn't I only deny everything ????

They mostly don't care about any evidence. They have chosen to reject Christ. If we were to tell them of real miracles which we have witnessed, they would say it had to be coincidence or we were dreaming, or on drugs, or deluded. So, nothing helps them.
I honestly feel that the only thing that would make a difference is if they got into some desperate circumstance, like being in a plane that was going down (damaged wing), or on the edge of a cliff in a high mountain and no way to get off, and yeah a storm was brewing or a mountain lion was looking intently at them. So, then they scream for God to rescue them. So, what is God going to do? Will he not say, "But why did you deny me yesterday? and what are you going to do with your life now when I rescue you?" So, that is their turning point. They make a promise to God, he sends a helicopter and picks you up off the cliff, or causes the airplane to miraculously land safely. Then they believe.

"1. Creation: His invisible attributes have been clearly seen through what has been made." This argument holds no water. If evidence showed that we were created by a divine creator, then how are we any closer to proving it is the Christian god? You must be arguing for the Christian god, because you quote the Bible. 2. "God ...as the Scripture says. " Anything to do with the holy scripture isn't actual proof of their respective god. If that was the case, then there would be tons of gods in existance and that's definitely not what you are trying to argue here. 3. "God's Word contains fulfilled prophesy, proving the Scriptures are divinely inspired and infallible. Isaiah 53 is clearly prophesying the crucifixion of Christ, 700 years before He even came into the world. Psalm 22 is also very clearly speaking of Christ as well." Saying that the scripture is infallible is going to get you in trouble. Then when people point out the contradictions, please don't say that it was written by fallible humans. 4. God also has another way of proving or revealing Himself, that the world cannot know. God reveals Himself to His people by testifying with our spirits, that we are children of God. This is talked about in God's divinely infallible verse: Romans 8:16 If the world cannot know, then Why are you speaking for god Why are you trying to prove him If everyone that testifies to god, god relveals himself to them, then why are there those who convert from christianity to atheism or other religions? Outside proof is what people yearn for. Outside proofs is the proof you seem to have problems providing.

I did not want to stop believing in God but had no choice after extensive study and research. I could either be intellectually honest or live in denial. If believing what you want is more important than believing what proves to be true, your weakness has been revealed. I have already had to face what I hated most and change all of my beliefs. It's not easy. But I am more interested in finding truth rather than finding proof for what I want to believe. So if you think I should believe in your fairy tale god and his book of lies, by all means cough up some evidence and I will change my beliefs regardless of whether or not I want to. Most Christians are too weak to do the same.

You miss the point. Not wanting anything to do with god has nothing to do with it. It is simply the fact that there is no unmistakable evidence that has no other explanation.
What convinces you that another person exists? Seeing them in person, or hearing them, in such a way that you can be convinced it's not just you imagining it. The same applies to god. If he's so powerful, couldn't he do that, just once?

The same evidence for gravitons proves God.
Gravitons can only be denied. God can only be denied. The proof is what they do.

I would say His Words ( His Words are not to be justified by human reasoning ) but, that could not be enough for the unbelievers. Can anyone prove me wrong in this? I am sure that everyone believes that TV waves, radio waves and sound waves exist but, who can tell me the last time they saw them in order to believe that they exist? We justify those waves by their effects, not by sight. Such it is for God; He is Spirit and cannot be seen by the naked eyes and He does EXIST.

This is whay they call it "Religion" : at some level, it requires one to believe in something for which there is no proof. If there was incontrovertible proof, it would be called science and nobody would have anything to argue about, which would make for a much duller world. :)

As a deist, I need no proof.
Logically, I can certainly understand why someone else would have a hard time believing.
The buy-bull hurts your case because of it nonsense.

You're right. If there is a god, he's a disgusting creature I wouldn't want anything to do with him.
I doubt there is anything that could convince me.
