Who are You to know what God wants?
i'm trying to look at this from a neutral, monotheistic point of view. so let's try to stick with the facts. if God is defined as the eternal being who created the universe, which is so indescribably complex no human being will ever be able to understand, isn't it morbidly presumptuous or even arrogant to claim to know what He wants? if we can't even understand His creation, how would we ever understand its creator? why would He care about how we demonstrate our gratefulness (like what and when we eat, which words we use to pray and so on), as long as we keep doing it?
all i can say for sure is, that the fact that life is so exorbitantly rare in the universe should be way enough a reason to cherish and protect it no matter what it looks or lives like.

You are right about God being "indescribably complex ". It is true we cannot understand God fully.
The only reason we know God and about God is because He has revealed Himself, at times in great detail. No, we cannot claim to know everything about God except what He has revealed about Himself.

"that the fact that life is so exorbitantly rare in the universe" Shouldn't that say something about God. If there was life on every other planet then I'm sure 99% of people would find it hard to believe in him.
