Steel toe boot toe protectors?

Question

My husband is entertaining a job prospect that requires him to wear steel toe boots. The problem is the steel toes tear up his toes and he is diabetic. We cannot afford for him to have wounds on his feet.

My question is 
Are there any toe covering that he can put on his toes so it doesn't tear up his feet?

this is going to be way out there but i think it will help...

im a dancer and i do ballet and in our pointe shoes we wear this thin padding we put on our toes so it doesnt hurt as bad. they are called "ouch pouches" and they just cover your toes and they come in different sizes. i would check them out. it might help. good luck.

I would try a pair of the heaviest thickest socks you can find. You could try a good shoe store they may have something that can be inserted into the boots

I use mink oil on mine, get it at most shoe stores.
