I'm in favor of expanding the Congressional Healthcare Plan to include interested American Citizens. Are You?

I think that Congress has wasted about enough time and money discussing Health Care. I am in favor of expaning the Health Care

Plan that Congressional Members already have to include any and all interested American Citizens. Would you vote yes to a proposal like that?

It is not going to happen. Though if Obama's plans go through, you will be able to buy a similar policy to what they have.

First of all, Obama wants to make insurance more available to all and change the system so that it is cheaper. He also wants change so that the insurance companies find it harder to get out of paying for treatment. The system he is proposing looks similar to that which works in Holland and Switzerland where private companies are involved in providing insurance.

Second, of course universal health-cover sucks. That is why we in Western Europe have it. We think, hmm, our healthcare system sucks. I know, lets keep it. I guess that is the same with Japan and Canada as well.

Third, Obama campaigned on reforming the healthcare system. He said he wanted to make insurance more available and he was elected by the American people to do this.

FACT - the US has higher death rates for kids both for kids aged under one and those under five than western European countries with universal health coverage.

FACT - American insurance companies push up prices and work to stop paying out claims on those they cover.

FACT - the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet.

That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, Cuba, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.

Last of all if you do not like the policies that Obama was elected to bring in, he can always be voted out of office in 2012.

I would be in favor of the same Health Care that is provided to members of congress and the white house that is paid for by the taxpayers of this country. From what I understand, these elite constituents of our great nation do not seem to think this new Health Care proposal is good enough for them or their families but it is more than adequate for the average citizen. This is completely unacceptable.

    Case closed!

How can you say you are in favor of a Health Care Plan you have not read, have no idea how it will affect you, your family, your parents.

What will you do if you get a lousy doctor? If you need major surgery how long are you willing to wait 1) for the government to approve whether or not you need it (don't listen to your doctor, big government knows best). 2) How long are you prepared to wait in the doctors office for the doctor to spend 10 minutes with you and move on to the next patient? 3) How discouraged will you be when the doctor does not have the time to answer your questions?

You just have not thought this thing through but it would behoove you to do so. Haven't you been manipulated and lied to enough?

To Patriot: Our infant mortality is worse because we have women popping babies every year but don't bother with pre-natal care although they would not have to pay for this.

Parents do not need to pay for vaccinations and check up but they don't bother to fulfill this responsibility to their children. It's so much easier to wait until it is convenient to go to the emergency room. Not so much paper work, etc.

Here's my idea: Let's make them all pay the same amount of money that average everyday Americans pay. Why should they get perks and preferential treatment for being a member of Congress? What makes them more important than me or you?

I say scrap their health care plan and have them purchase it.

They don't do anything constructive for America, anyway. They're corrupt imbeciles.

No, quite simply put..this country can't afford it. I'm interested in any practical bill; that has funding behind it; that will not contribute to the national debt. If we continue, to spend, with no accountability, then this country will collapse!

No. I want that perk removed (& many others) I'd prefer less govt on this.
