Anyone out there know about Acer laptops?
I have an Acer laptop and broadband with Sky. For a couple of months now, the connection has been randomly dropping every few minutes. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it and the connection is still there in the background. It just seems to be something the software is doing.
Does anyone else out there have this problem / has anyone managed to solve it?
Many thanks

One answer i know to this is that when a laptop gets really hot some inbuilt Wireless cards will overheat and stop working, kicking you off the network
I saw this happen to a Toshiba, a Dell and a Sony Vaio in the same way and all for the same reason
So placing the laptop on a hard surface without the breathing hole being blocked helps
You might also try updating the wireless cards drivers by downloading them from the manufacturers website
Http://www.acer.co.uk >click Support>Download drivers>select model> download WLAN drivers
I hope your problem gets solved!

Two solutions.
1st. Move closer to router you are loosing the signal, move away from router until signal strength show low, this is the farthermost you can be from the router and still connect and it may still drop the connection.
Relocate router, move closer, buy a better router the new N version, install a signal router booster.
2nd. Buy a lap top cooling pad with built in fans, do not use the lap top on a soft surface to prevent overheating.
