Mt dryer has a damp, musty smell in where the lint trap goes?
The smell lessens some if I leave the door open for a while. When I use it, the smell gets on my clothes. It smells like dirty, wet towels.
It was there last night after I did a load of shirts. There was no smell before I put the shirts in.

Sounds like mildew spores. Clean and vacuum out the lint filter area. If you could get a hand or a brush into the hard to reach areas to clean, do that too. Vacuum again afterwards. Once you have cleaned all you can, take some chlorine bleach and put 2 parts bleach and 5 parts water into a spray bottle. Spray as far as you can into the lint compartment area. Let air dry for several hours. You may also want to do the same at the back of the dryer where the vent exits.
