the ending to Koizora?

i just watched the live action movie on it so i didn't know what exactly happen in manga!!!(but the movie is based on the novel/manga so probably has the same ending)

Yeah!! he died from cancer or something!!! they broke when they are in first year after their baby died because the girl(forgot her name) fall from the stairs because hiro ex-girlfriend push her... they didn't actually meet in 2 years but hiro always watching her but then later on she found out that he is suffering from cancer and that's the reason they broke up because hiro don't want to see her crying before he died!!and then she take care of him from then on....before hiro took his last breath he ask the girl not to cry but instead to smile for him for the last time so he died without regret and wish also her happiness!!!
