How can I determine the alcohol content in a wine?
I like to drink wine. A new one appeared on the local market about six months ago. "Pomegranate Wine" advertises that instead of 4-5% alcohol by volume, it only has 1%. However, when I consume it, I tend to get a buzz on more quickly than I do with a regular wine.
Could it be that the alcoholic content is higher? How can I check on this?

This info is on the bottle. Questions that you have about a product can be answered by calling the number on the package.

It's right on the label by law, but most wine is between 12% and 15% alcohol by volume.
If your Pomegranate Wine is "home made", which would make it illegal but also probably not accurately labeled. It could be anything.
How you react to alcohol is also affected by any ingredients that help or hinder you absorb the alcohol into your blood stream. There may be something in this wine or something about pomegranates that helps you to absorb alcohol faster or more efficiently. In that case alcohol content isn't the issue.
