My turtle is being shy, help? read details please.?

I just got a baby red ear slider, and i know they can be shy when you first get them.

but my problem is that he has a large tank with live fish and plants he can eat, he can't really catch the fish yet

so when i try to feed him he swims away and i drop the food on top but the fish start to eat it,

should i put my turtle in an another container when i feed him or will that just freak him out more?

ps. there is nothing wrong with his tank, its got every thing he needs

    well turtles are not social animals and hate being handled, but after awhile like all animals form a habit of "begging' you for food. even then your turtle will try and bite or scratch you. so i would just give the turtle some time to get used to this tank, mine don't eat for 2-3 days after i clean/move around there tank

    Do you have a heater and a filter out and a ledge for the turtle on your laundry detergent bucket? If no longer then it may be getting ill by using water being so chilly.. He/She could sense lonely (I had to purchase 2 turtles by using fact a turtle by using itself can get very lonely) in case you in basic terms offered it a pair of days in the past then I sugest you leave it for each week. in basic terms placed the nutrition interior the tank/bucket and leave it.. whilst the week has long previous.. start up coping with him now and lower back so he gets used to you and then hols him further and further.. you're meant to take him out of the take in a single day as quickly as a month to dry out and bask.. in a heat place. What sort of turtle is it? my turtles are '' Mississippi Map Turtles '' and that they consume fishy nutrition like fish pellets and dry shrimp and for a handle i supply them prawns. sorry for calling it a him no remember if it truly is a her.. its a habbit lol desire this helped.. ultimate of success x

    just handle him a bit more and put the food rite in front of him or on the floating land mass you should have

    by a new tank he mabye fell lonley and buy a new turtle
