Scots wha hae! Whit think ye?
Is it time for the Scots to stop saying 'shite' and start saying 'shicht' instead? night - nicht, light - licht, right - richt etc. Maybe the English could put the 'gh' back in and it would make more sense: shite - shight - shicht.
You are not far from my wavelength, friend.

There's likely lots of real Scots words that could be use instead. Remember that this is "Scots leid". It was written like this before the Union. The Scottish Government is now actively promoting this. We do speak it after all and have done for hundreds of years. Learn today.

This actually was the way these things were pronounced in Middle English, e.g. Chaucer's "The Canterbury Tales".
P.S. The vowels were pronounced differently as well.
