What happens when all of your unemployment benefits run out?

Interestingly enough, you fall off the statistical chart that shows how many people are out of work. You dont count anymore. As for finding a job, some of the people answering here dont know how difficult it is, especially after a certain age. Keep looking. That's all you can do.

Have you used up all your extensions? You can collect for a year now. If you have used them all up then you should try to get anything. McDonalds, farm picker, anything. I feel for you, both my husband and I are in the same boat. I just got a part time job Friday. I want full time but after all the pavement pounding locally and resume sending I've done all over the states this was the first and only offer I've gotten so I had to take it. You can't be picky about what you get right now. If this doesn't turn in to full time soon I will be looking for a second part time job. Try Lowe's and Auto Zone. My daughter works for Auto Zone and they are always looking. Of course then again they only want you to be part time so they don't have to pay benefits but it's better then nothing. If it runs out, then probably not. You would have to work for a while first before you can collect again if you lose the job. Call your state unemployment office to find out for sure.
