In April I travelled through Uzbekistan, and I mentioned all trees were painted white from the ground 1 meter up...
What is the reason for that, and how do they organize that?

They do it using calcium hydrate to protect trees from sun burns, which can cause them cracks on their bark.It can cause them some serious problems.They doing it not only in Uzbekistan, so far I've seen it all over Russia and former SU republics.
How do they do it? Gardeners do it manually))
