Mommies...how is your house looking?
Being 12 weeks pregnant & sick, having a wild 18 month old and a fiance who doesn't know how to pick up after himself..my house is a mess! So honestly...how's yours looking? How often do you really clean everything? Bathroom? Vaccum? Dusting?

right now? pretty um ... "lived in".
there's the "olympic champion biggest ever domino track" practically blocking any route from living room to kitchen, the dining room table is completely covered with recycling materials that they're using to construct something (a castle? not sure), and in the study my 3-year-old has set up all the little people across the floor (apparently they're in school). the laundry is done but not put away, the kitchen floor needs mopping, and the whole house needs a vacuum. haven't used my beloved roomba in a while because of the aforementioned toys all over the floor.
so instead of dealing with all that i'm thinking of taking the kids to the library this morning. should be plenty clean there. ;-) the kids have friends coming in the afternoon and if i wait until shortly before they come i go into a nice big panic and clean very efficiently.

My house is always clean because I'm a clean freak. hahaha I have a 2 1/2 year old son and my husband is sorta good at picking up after himself.
Basically, if we see something that needs to be cleaned, we clean it. It something is put out of place, we put it back. I change sheets on Sunday, mop the floors on Mon, Wed and Fri, I clean the bathrooms on Tuesdays and dust and vacuum as needed. We have 2 dogs and a cat, so we vacuum a lot!
I'm in my 5th week of pregnancy and feel awesome right now. When I was pregnant with my son I still kept a clean house because my husband was deployed and I had a great pregnancy as well. After my son was born my friends called me Super Mom because the house was clean, I was showered and dressed and everything was just fine in the house. I don't like a messy house, so I will get it cleaned no matter what.

Oh no you poor thing! Well, you have good reason to have a mess.
Our house is pretty clean, but I only have one child, also a wilf 18 month old :) How do I do it? Well, I have one of those roomba vacuums that just zips around for me and really the thing does a great job. To be honest, I probably dust once a week. I clean the kitchen every day. The dishes have to be put away and the counters wiped or else I'll go crazy... I usually straighten up as we go through the day but since I'm a stay at home mommy, it's a lot easier. When my husband gets home at 6 every night I'm usually getting dinner ready and he plays with Anthony while I'm busy.

I have a 2 year old and I'm 6 weeks pregnant with morning sickness all day and night and my house is a mess. It is somewhat organized but it needs a good dusting. My husband is a great help but there is always something to be done and the cleaning is last on the list.
I try to clean 1x a week, dusting/vacuuming/bathroom. Then there is the everyday things, dishes, laundry. It isn't to much trouble (urg) when things are picked up and organized. I can't wait until I'm nesting lol. My house needs it.

don't even get me started on my bathroom...
the rest of my house is currently okay looking. there's baby toys all over the living room and our bedroom is a mess. the kitchen looks great though (as long as the kitchen is clean, I can handle the rest of the house being messy), except there's a load of recycling that needs to be taken out. I need to clean out the front closet, clear off the end tables, throw out old flowers and put away all the miscellaneous baby clothes that are thrown all over...
I clean the living room/kitchen everyday. I clean the bathroom maybe once a week or twice if it looks really bad. the baby's room I continuously clean so it never really gets dirty. but our bedroom is left by the wayside :( I always have laundry and sheets and my jewelry all over the place in there. I clean that about every time I do laundry but it doesn't stay very clean!

I know you aimed your question at Mommies, but I'm a Daddy, and I've just dropped my 5 months pregnant wife off at work, my 7 year old son off at school and my 4 year old daughter off at pre-school.
I am now back home with my 20 month old daughter and the house is such a mess - mornings are such a rush in our house after dressing 3 kids, making breakfast for everyone, my wife having morning sickness, etc.
There are bowls everywhere, the kids' rooms are strewn with clothes and toys, and it looks as though the towel rack has been knocked off the wall when Lily had ran into the bathroom to relieve her nausea.
I would get to work on my SAHD duties if I could pull myself away from Yahoo!Answers.
Oh and now, on top of all this, I have to feed Sally, our 20 month old. I think it's safe to say that my house will remain a shambles until I can bring myself to tidy up.

I'm with Carrie. To the naked eye it looks clean all the time, and is never embarassed by the doorbell. But whatever you do, don't move a couch or look under the microwave. I clean it once a week, and pick up constantly. I hate clutter. I vaccuum once a day (dog hair and crumbs). But it hasn't had a good spring cleaning in ages. Two kids ago I used to spring clean ceiling to floor twice a year. I dust once a week, bathrooms (thoroughly) once a week but the counter and toilet gets hit every day w/ clorox cleanups.

With my first pregnancy I was laid up on the couch for the most of it; I was pregnant with triplets. My Husband and I have been married almost 2 years and during that time he has never cleaned or cooked. When it came time for him to help me out with those areas...he sucked, I'm not going to lie. He didn't know how to do either. I showed him how to make simple meals by sitting in a chair in the kitchen and playing "boss" and I even had to tell him which cleaners to use on what. I went insane with how dirty I felt our house was or how aggravated that "nothing get's done around here unless I do it" but now that the birth is over and I have recovered I think that it wasn't too bad. I don't have any other children so it was even that much easier for me, but Mother's who do have children and are pregnant I give much respect for. Our house is now spotless and slowly we are working as a team to tidy up every now and again so we are prepared next time.

I tidy up several times a day, pretty much all day long. Anyone coming to my home at any time of day would see a neat, seemingly 'clean' house. I vacuum every evening and mop about twice a week, sometimes three if needed. I only dust about once every two weeks...that's my worst core-management!
As far as the bathrooms go, they get bleached every evening and the showers get scrubbed once a week.
I could do better I suppose, but I am the queen of procrastination!

My house looks horrible right now but I'm going to start cleaning as soon as I get off the computer. I have found that if I do a basic routine everyday and keep on top of stuff, cleaning is a breeze. Unfortunately, sometimes I let things get away from me and I end up like today, where it looks like a bunch of vagabonds broke in and destroyed my home.
